The best spots for a drink

A little holiday indulgence! After a walk in the fresh air along the hiking trails, after an immersion into culture and heritage, or after a visit to see local producers, enjoying a nice drink is the little extra that will add something to your day. We will share our favourite spots!

1. With family in Berthen

Les Bio Monts Brasserie-épicerie is perfect for the whole family! The terrace has an unobstructed view over the play area, and you can do your shopping in the little shop while you have a break in the bar area. On the menu, only 100% local products, many of which are organic.

2. On the terraces of Cassel

There are many terraces in Cassel.

Some dominate the skyline, behind the establishments. Others allow you to enjoy the hustle and bustle on the Grand’Place, so can you have a drink while watching the passers-by!

3. In Bailleul, at the foot of the belfry

At Café Bellenaert, your aperitif will be punctuated by the ritornellos of bells, as you’re on the Grand Place and below the belfry. Don’t miss out on a selection of craft beers on the menu.

4. In an Estaminet Flamand in Hondeghem

The old common house is a Flemish hot spot, with its generous cuisine. A friendly welcome, a nice cold drink, perfect for hikers to rest their legs! In addition, with the Kafé just next door, you can even go and buy a few local products in the shop!

5. In Oxelaere, a village with a thousand flavours

An unusual establishment takes centre stage on the square of Oxelaere with its estaminet-canteen. On weekdays, school children eat here. But at the weekend, you can enjoy the terrace, savour an aperitif platter, followed by some grilled meats or a traditional dish.
